June PAC meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chair, Tamara Flick-Parker

Staff Report – Jim King (Head Teacher)

Last Day of Classes – June 9^th (full day). This is different from what is on the calendar. The school picnic will be held on June 10^th.

Exams begin June 17^th.

Report cards to be sent via mail on June 25^th.


Garden Project - Tamara Flick-Parker (Chair)

Ideal students now have garden plot at the George Pearson Centre.

Three students have already been over to clean and prepare the area for planting.

Tamara will work with the current group of students over the summer.

Encourage other students and families to get involved and keep this project going.

Rona is keen to help – continue to keep in contact with the Kingsway location manager.

School Growth Planning Council – Tamara Flick-Parker (Chair)


The School Planning Council is comprised of 4-7 students and 3 parents. Several meetings have been held over the past month.
The plan is complete except for the inclusion of the revised mission statement from the students.


Guest Speaker – Kayo Devcic

Kayo Devcic gave a brief presentation about Non-Violent Communication. This was an introduction to a more complete program that she offers. Ideal has the option of inviting Kayo or Raj Gill to come back next year in Oct. or Nov. for a full training session at a cost of approximately $300. Other Business

Generaldiscussion regarding the cross-culture relationship and course selection with Churchill – To be added to September’s PAC meeting agenda.
